SURE-Line automation
Parlour Automation allows the farmer to optimise the herd to achieve maximum profit. To do this, the farmer needs to automate as much as possible to reduce labour costs, as well as have some system in place to help assess the productivity of the herd.
The SURE-Line Automation System has been designed with these key points in mind and the basic equipment required for a workable system follows.
| Computer | Runs process management and cow database program |
| Computer network interface | A device that enables communication between the parlour equipment and the computer program via a network bus |
| Identification controller | Converts transponder data and transfers it to the network bus |
| Antenna | Reads transponder data |
| Transponders | Small device with a unique number identifier that is fitted to the cow |
| Milking controller | Controls cow milking hardware and records and sends cow and milk data to the computer |
| Feeding controller | Controls cow feeding hardware and stores ration and warning flag information on each cow in the herd |
