The Electric Backing Gate is a method of getting cows into the milking parlour with minimum effort. The concept involves moving a barrier with a small electric charge behind the cows to usher them forward.  The cows soon learn to move forward towards the milking stalls when the space is available. In a medium/large size herd it can reduce milking time by 1/2 hour.
